why i love to worship.

today, i learnt quite a number of things. essentially, i witnessed the power of really partnering with the Holy Spirit. it helps you see things from a God perspective, it helps you keep your ears attuned to the works of God.

through this conference, i've seen how worship has opened hearts so that God can perform surgery. i've seen how worship can remind people to become grateful. i've seen how worship helps people set their eyes on their maker. i've seen how worship starts the work of restoration. i've seen how worship lifts up the name of Christ. as an individual, we're a whisper, but as one church, we're a shout to heaven. there was such desperation, such dependence, such yearning for the Spirit today. i've seen how worship gelled the hearts of the people together, uniting different people, reminding them that they're a family in Christ.

i love the power of worship, because it is a place for God to work. this also is the importance of worship. and i'm so priviledged to be called to be part of this ministry.

today i saw an extremely rare sight. i saw a lateral thunderstorm. "flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder" made so much sense to me. it was quite scary and yet mesmerizing at the same time.

Job 38:35
35 Do you send the lightning bolts on their way?
Do they report to you, 'Here we are'?

this enlarged my worldview of God once again.

I was reading Exodus, the part whereby God was telling Moses to build the tabernacle, and I came to realise 2 very key things.

1) God asked Moses to build the tabernacle using offerings. Things which people would want to give and willingly give. articles of gold/silver/bronze/wool etc.

God chooses to make his dwelling in our thanksgiving and praise. when we approach God with gratitude and a thankful heart, He'll naturally be present. I guess it's always when we keep a perspective of gratefulness, then we'll be able to see and hear from God the clearest.

2) God gave very detailed instruction on how to make the tabernacle. All along I've always thought that we can only notice how detailed God is through this passage. However, it dawned upon me that all that detail, all that intricacy is made to create a dwelling worthy of the living God.

Imagine, you're alive and almighty, you can travel across space and time, and you choose to live in a BOX? hmm... don't we only live in boxes when we die? kinda paradoxical. perhaps we could make the box abit more comfortable by putting cushions or more beautiful by studding it with diamonds. but still, God never fails to baffle me why He would choose to live in a box. eitherway, all the intricacy is needed to make the box worthy of God's dwelling. in the same way, all the little habits in our lives, all the carnalities of it it all, i must put in the intricate effort to iron it away! yes i understand that essentially, it's not what i do which causes God to dwell within this dying body of mine, but i want to make my heart a heart worthy of the living God.

recently i've been receiving many bombs. maybe the word "surrender" is really just a big big flashing neon sign to God saying "hit me, shoot me, bomb me". And i gotta say God's really fast in taking action! this is not a response based solely on emotion. God, i want to do these things because i want to shout out to the world that You are real and these things are needed for Your kingdom to grow. though it means alot of giving up, but God, i want to give up these things with joy. You are worth more than my slack time, worth more than my studies, worth more than comfort zones. with joy to You i come! haha. omg, i have a feeling i'll feel stupid in 2 months time. but yea, i believe God will be the solid rock under my feet.

to become a surrendered Vocalist, fulfilling the great commission by drawing men from all nations to the living God through my voice.
